In a nutshell either the problem is with W10 or your licence codes have expired. I have asked one of our experienced users who I know has successfully installed both Aeon and G-Force on W10 to offer any help he can. I have also sent SS another email asking for their input.

If you go back to the tech site I sent you to there are reports posted in the past 24 hours by several people that W10 is blocking many games pre 2005, worth a read.
Hi BTT and bpoo,

There was no issue from my computers after I upgraded them to Windows 10 Pro x64 bit....
However, even though I upgraded each visualizer required a reinstall, so I just used the same latest versions I had downloaded for G-Force, Aeon and Whitecap Platinum.... with current active license keys....
Each visualizer installer validated the respective license key... and since bpoo is saying the licenses are valid, the issues being described may require some SS support staff investigation / intervention.

FYI, for Antivirus I'm using Trend Micro Maximum Security Version 10 (released just after windows 10) which still utilizes the Windows firewall with Enhanced Protection. No connection problems with SoundSpectrum servers, no false positives for beta releases.

Sorry I can't be of more help, but my functionality of the SS visualizers and their installers is flawless.
Beware, Edge browser (default in Windows 10) doesn't support any add-ons (except Flash) yet at least for another few months...
If anyone experiences difficulties with site functionality / java required, etc - use Internet Explorer 11 (still available in Windows 10) - or try Firefox or Google Chrome browsers.

Just checking and hoping you have Java installed and Adobe Shockwave Player installed so we can rule them out as possible causes, ensure you use a browser that can run plugins to install them both.....

If I think of anything else to add I will surely add to this topic....

Thanks :)

Hi Guys,

Didn't want you to think I've been ignoring this topic. I haven't been able to reply because I've been traveling. Me and bpoo have been working on a solution, as well. Thanks for all your help, keep it up!

Hello Frank

When you have found the solution I hope you will post it here so we can refer to it should the same problem occur again.

So, where you been?

I was in Chicago for a week, and my laptop broke while I was there. :( The hinge snapped and now unplugs the display from the motherboard when it is opened.

Hi Andy and Frank,

... just wanted to know if there will be any updates to the existing visualizers before the end of 2015?

Whitecap - last updated 6.4.2 beta1 - 04 June 2015 (almost 3 months - for a beta?)
G-Force - last update was official release 5.4.2 - 4 February 2015 (~7 months)
Aeon - last update was official release 3.7.3 - 6 February 2015 (~7 months)

It just doesn't look too promising from where we are now, nearly September!
Those 12 months worth of product updates included with the licenses are almost flying past in my opinion! ;)

Also, it remains to be seen if we get an official timeframe on how things are going to develop with TunR, beta or test release, etc.

Patiently waiting..... like everyone else!

Cheers, from Alf

Yes, definitely uninstall Bonjour and try to register again. I don't know what it is about Bonjour but it has caused many a problem in the past. I don't think the problem is with your ISP, but I have read that some W10 users are having problems with their Windows accounts. Have a read of the topic at the link I have sent to your mailbox.
Thanks BTT,
I was getting an error stating G-force toolbar couldn't connect...after reading this I uninstalled Bonjour and it fixed the issue.
Thanks again,
Randy

Hello g_randybrown

Good to hear your problem was resolved. However, I cannot take the credit for this it was my fellow moderator juxtiphi who discovered this.

Hi guys,

Sorry I haven't been able to respond to these messages yet! Part of working hard on Tunr is that we haven't been able to deliver as many updates as we'd like. We're working on it, though!

The beta of WhiteCap was to test a fix to do with title track info. It will likely be included in all releases, but it wasn't really enough to justify a full-on release yet.

We still can't give you an official timeframe for the release of Tunr. We want to work on it until it's done. We are putting a lot of thought and effort into this product. We want you to be the first to know when there's useful information, don't worry!

I hope this is helpful and I'm looking forward to hearing your reactions to Tunr.

Thanks for all the updates Frank, greatly appreciated :)

One question, will Tunr be released as a beta first to willing participants or will it be an official version debuting upon release?

Cheers and also thanks for fixing my activation issues too, within 12 hours! ;)

Hey guys,

I want to follow-up regarding my problems trying to install G-Force Platinum and Aeon Platinum on my Windows 7 and Windows 10 computers. Frank said my licenses were correct but had been disabled after my multiple unsuccessful attempts to install. He re-enabled them but I still could not get past the license file check. I sent Frank screenshots of filtered results from Event Viewer that showed send/receive TCP communications were occurring between my computers and the 2 servers used by SoundSpectrum for license checking (but the actual data payload was not analyzed).

But during my testing I also noticed after turning off the firewall to my Windows 10 computer that UDP datagrams were sent to my Windows 7 computer. This should not have been possible as I had Network Discovery and Homegroup off on both computers. I had only minimal network adapter components enabled (IPV4 and QoS). When I went to my Windows 7 computer I found that the firewall had somehow been turned completely off, Homegroup turned on, Windows Media Server turned on, and file permissions for both media and documents had been opened up for complete access to a user I did not recognize. So this told me I likely had a serious security issue similarly affecting both my computers, preexisting long before I first tried installing SoundSpectrum licensed products.

I reimaged both Windows 7 and Windows 10 computers from DVDs, and I was then able to install SoundSpectrum licensed products with no problems.

I used exactly the same network settings as before, and I was able to install with Windows Defender, Windows Firewall, and Avast! antivirus running with default options. I suspect my computers had long ago been infected with a virus / malware and perhaps a man-in-the-middle (MOM) cyberstalker. I suspect this because the data transfers between my computers and the SoundSpectrum license servers were likely modified or corrupted if they were transformed by a MOM. I suspect since SoundSpectrum apps have been around for so long they may be using a low-level socket method for TCP transfers that were not mimicked correctly by the MOM.

I had no other direct, repeatable evidence of this infection except for trying to install SoundSpectrum licensed products. And none of the anti-spyware or anti-virus software detected this infection.

Lessons learned: 1) Never disable your firewall; 2) Disable NetBIOS; 3) Only enable the network adapter components you need; 4) Once infected, commercially available anti-spyware, anti-virus software may not fix your computers; 5) Even with security due-diligence, there's always the possibility your computer can be compromised, and reimaging is sometimes the only practical way to recover.

Thanks for those on this forum who offered assistance!

Hello bpoo

You really have had a battle sorting out these problems. Well done for sticking with it, and we are all very pleased you can now enjoy G-Force and Aeon. Thanks very much for taking the time and trouble to share with all of us your solution.

Some good FREE security programs you may want to consider are:

Malwarebytes, SuperAntiSpyware and ADWcleaner. Only download the FREE versions and UNCHECK any offers to install other software, update and scan once a week.

Surely you could just release some new visualizations for the fans without reworking the base code?
