G-Force 5

Post by andy55 »

Hey everyone!

I know a lot of people have been anxious to see G-Force 5, so I've posted 5.0a1 in the beta section (but decided to *not* send out an email since the TODOs over the next week are numerous). This early release is for veteran users only -- and be sure to read the beta notes. Please refrain from bug reports on the TODO-related items. On Tuesday or so look for 5.0b1 (with all the TODOs addressed).

Hello Andy

As it seems G-Force 5.0 will have both the new GUI and the G-Force toolbar will the user have the choice of choosing one or the other?

Looking forward to the second beta release....

Something I noticed with G-Force beta 5a1 is that when in full screen the standalone versions and the Winamp version do not function and Instead display a "Your PC and GPU don not meet the minimum system requirements"...warning

.....when I know it does work in both 32 bit and 64 bit Windows Media Players and Windows 8 Pro 64 bit Media Center plus iTunes -it works flawlessly without any or little drag -- The new visualizations are clearer, more fluid and gob-smackingly captivating!

( I'm also a licensed user of AEON Platinum + Whitecap Platinum )

Hope these issues have been identified and fixed... I gather it may be somewhat related to the older toolbar integration and its system identity kit

Finger crossed

Thanks Soundspectrum,

from Alf

Nice job on this Andyss.

I see a massive improvement in the J.River plugin. GF4 was a bit flaky with Jriver and now its perfect. Happy cause I had to stop using it as J.River is now my main and pretty much only media player. AEON was always running fine in JR though so whatever you changed it did the trick.

Loving the new scenes. Ran it for hours without a single hiccup or error.

Ok, there's a new beta up.

GF 64 bit tests ok with the toolbar, so if you're having issues with that, please be specific and I'll look into it.

A new beta with stock categories and themes should be out in a few days.

New Beta Looks Great! no problems in the Standalone, winamp plugin, Windows Media Player or Windows Media center.

I havent really sat down and tried to use it yet, just gave it a quick run to see if any issues pop up.

It looks great but still not sure how good the "themes" will be when in use. Normaly I would let G-force run and what ever happened happened. This usually resulted in a great G-force experience even though I hadnt created any type of set theme.

The old Toolbar is still functioning so we'll see what happens with it.

Really??? On GF5.0/64 Standalone???
My toolbar works (for the most part with GF5/32 - plugins and such), but ONLY startups with GF5.0/64 Standalone BUT never initializes OR becomes active...
same situation I had since 4.4

:? :? :?

My Toolbar in the 64 bit standalone instance of G-force 5.b3... works!

64 bit operating system Windows 8 Pro with Windows Media Center

May I also add that I did a full uninstall and reinstall to clear up any possible clashes.

In future SS may add a tickable box for clean install during update installations. This would be similar to that offered by NVidia graphics card driver updates....

Thanks from Alf :)
