GeForce Not working with Windows 7 64 bit

Post by Mike89 »

Just installed Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. I then installed Geforce Platinum (I bought it quite sometime ago and have used it since). The screensavor part works but sometimes a message comes up in the screensaver window (when clicking Preview) saying there is an error and have to re-install Geforce.

Playing music in WMP 12 though and Geforce doesn't work at all. It's listed in the Visualzations but when clicking on it, nothing happens.

I am very surprised I can't find a single post here about Geforce and Windows 7 64 bit.

So does it work or not?

I had searched for threads before I posted mine and didn't find any.

I find it quite unacceptable that no mention whatsoever about compatibility with Windows 7 is even on the website concerning the products sold, but they will quite happily accept your money for a product that is not going to work if your own Windows 7.

I had used Geforce for about 3 years and thought it was the best visual enhancement for Windows Media Player. Now I can't use it anymore. It just so happens my yearly subscription is up and I would have to renew with more cash to get the latest version which I'm not going to do. That brings up another gripe of mine (since I'm on a roll) about the pricing. $24 a year to have a screensaver and visual enhancement for WMP is quite overpriced and riduculous.

maybe you should read the faq a bit more carefully

from the faq

What are the system requirements?
G-Force requires Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7 or Mac OS X 10.4 (or later) and requires a G5 or P4 processor (or later). G-Force requires hardware graphics acceleration, so you should install and try the free trial version of G-Force in order to ensure that it runs satisfactorily on your system. Please note that G-Force does not currently support the 64 bit versions of Windows Media Player or Windows Media Center. Also note that the G-Force screen saver is not currently compatible with the 64-bit version of Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard). (See below for more information.)

OK! Well, my Whitecap and GForce work properly with my 64 bit windows 7 ultimate except for the fact when I try to make it full screen in windows media player. nothing shows up (just black screen and buttons at bottom) and when I try to take it back to full screen with the playlist on the side it freezes and stops working. I never had this problem when running windows vista ultimate 64 bit and was wondering if anybody knows what is causing this.
