iTunes G-Force Fullscreen mode problems. Screen flashing

Post by Peteman990 »

Hello,

I have used G-force in the past on my Macbook Pro w/ no issues in the iTunes interface. I have a new computer now, and when I go into full-screen mode in iTunes the screen will start flashing like a strobe light. Could easily cause some epilepsy haha.

No idea why this is happening, tried changing my video card settings to no avail. It works just fine in standalone mode but I can't get it to recognize my music playing unless using it in iTunes.

It automatically defaults to 1920x1080 resolution, when I press M it does nothing but keep resetting to 1920x1080. Which is perfectly fine, as my computer is perfectly capable of running it in that resolution and it is my monitors native res.

No idea why the screen is flashing in full-screen. I'm using iTunes 8.2.1 (64-bit version) if it matters.

Thanks.

-J

Have you updated GF to the latest version? 3.9.4 if so how new is the itunes build? they make changes to the way itunes works with 3rd party apps almost all the time which means the latest version of GF may need to be reupdated again.

iTunes 8.2.1 is an older version, most updated prior to upgrading to iTunes 9 which doesn't work too well. I would like to stick with iTunes 8.2.1 if possible. G-Force is updated to latest version.

It works full-screen in standalone mode, but I can't seem to get the music recognized in standalone mode.

I have an Auzentech Prelude X-fi 7.1 sound-card. I have tried all options when right-clicking the g-force screen. None seem to work.

I am not 100% on this but I think since that build of itunes, gf has been updated a few times to work with the newer itunes try uninstalling gf and update itunes and see if you get a better result.

if GF had to be changed for 3 different itune builds then your build may be to old for the most recent GF

Alright, looks to be on the iTunes end and not the G-Force end (great program btw, love it, best visualizer out there,) I may try it with Winamp or another media player to see what the deal is there, bound to be some compatibility issues with versions and such.

Works fine in "almost" full-screen with the window maximized all I am missing is the Windows 7 toolbar above and below, seems odd that it will geek out when it goes into full-screen mode. Eh, I will test it out with some other players.

Thanks
