question about gforce before i buy

Post by ahs10 »

can i export to a video file? i've searched these forums found mention of a program called darkroom. this website says that darkroom is currently in development and there is no download link for it.

i'm on a mac, os x with ppc. can i export the animation gforce creates to a standard video file?

with the right programs you could probably capture video from your desktop but right now it cannot be done thru GF .

that was my backup plan.

has anyone done this before? if so, can you suggest some programs or some settings for gforce to make it work smoothly?

I have tried capturing th video but the cpu intensity of capture causes the g-force product to all but stop renderring. I have played g-force to my second monitor which has an s-video output. I have captured that video output with my other computer that has an s-video input . I have used Microsoft encoder as a recording tool. This has produced a great result the one time i did it.

But i too remember that product and i too wonder if it is still in the making.

well i've tried recording it using a low-end desktop recorder and it does slow down a LOT. you can use it as a vieo file, but it wont be as good as the media player GF.

A word of CAUTION on that! :) Some DVD Recorders PAUSE briefly when you are recording with them, such as the Go Video's DVD Recorder. If you have a TiVo DVR or another PVR/DVR type recorder you are better off on using that as your digital recorder rather than the DVD stand alone burner! Or, I know it is analog, but you could always get a high-end VHS Cassette and record your S-Video/RCA output to a VCR and then play it back and record it back into your computer via a PCI video editing card. Just a thought! :D
