Geforce Screensaver.exe a Trojan-Downloader?

Post by rapanuy »

Hi there.
You should get in contact with emsisoft.
The new a-Squared Anti Malware recognizes the Geforce Screensaver.exe in the Soundspectrumfolder as Trojan-Downloader.Win32.Swizzor!IK

You can contact them yourself. I forgot what it was, but I had a false positive with another program. 8)

They can correct it if you report it.

As my license does not include sending this around, I´ll leave it to the team here to send one to:

Christian Peters - a² Team [cc ( at ) emsisoft.com]

Oops, sorry. I sent them an uninstaller for another program.

? I guess I can´t follow you. Are you part of the team, or are you just goofing around here?

By the way: please edit the mailadress, I think its no good having it like this readable to spiders and robots, and the owner might also not like it..

last week winamp was doin the same thing avg recognized it as a trojan but its not so programs that do things on there own like access your files or the internet or like a screen saver may cause false positives.

this has nothing to do with SS and everything to do with the antivirus developers

I can understand all the false positive as there is so many background proccesses going on in some apps its criminal. Not saying anything Sondspectrum produces is in that category but winamp is a defo yes lol
I'll come to bed once i've seen everything in G-Force.

What are the signs if your computer has a Trojan Horse or Backdoor? Beside from the obvious of scanning and finding a trojan horse, what are signs to look out for if you've been infected, and how do you know if you have a backdoor on your computer? Thanks.

I think it's okay to answer this question here, as it's ultimately related to a SoundSpectrum app, esp. apropos of how an otherwise safe product download can be misconstrued by a PC operating system as a dangerous action.
