I'm not exactly sure but, it seems itunes does not accept commands from the keyboard the way other players do when concerning GF. I read through some old posts looking for answers for you concerning this prob and I dont think it was resolved.
personally itunes is not my player of choice for a lot of reasons but for me, if I could not use GF the way if wanted within my player of choice I would use another player until the issues were resolved. I mean most players are free so if I had to pay for a vis that didnt work with my player finding one that did would make sense.
I agree that itunes has long ago been bloated beyond usefulness (I was a SoundJam man back in the day). But I cant use standalone because I want the sound info/scripting functionality.
Well it appears you CAN trigger a script based on Track Name/Script Name, but I can't seem to do so manually with the keyboard.

as I understand it Itunes does not have a way for GF to accept commands from the keyboard.psylux wrote:I agree that itunes has long ago been bloated beyond usefulness (I was a SoundJam man back in the day). But I cant use standalone because I want the sound info/scripting functionality.

winamp on the other hand has this ability the only drawback is that if you click on anything located on your desktop it takes focus away from GF and you have to click the mouse on the GF window to regain focus.
I dont use scripts although I wish I could. I'm not much of a programer
