G-Force Standalone no "Stereomix" as input source
Hi, after quite a long time with Windows XP I recently installed Windows Server 2008 on my PC.
So in the process of moving, I also installed G-Force Platinum.
I generally use it with WMP, where it worked just fine. Yet, when I tried to use G-Force Standalone (which worked perfect with XP), I am only able to choose the three Sound generators as well as the Line In and Microphone channels as signal sources.
I did install the proper audio driver (Realtek HD Audio), and no hardware has changed while switching from XP.
My question is now, does anybody have any clue as to why that might be? Or much rather, what I can do to solve this?
I had already considered using VLC to capture the sound and stream it to WMP, thus basically setting up a "virtual Standalone", but one of the reasons to use Standalone was to be able to use true "full-screen" and not the leterboxed WMP fullscreen (something I had also managed to overcome with XP, but not Server 2008). I used the typical Preferences-approach to set the max_ and max_y to 1680*1050 (my display resolution), and while it worked with Standalone (albeit only for mic and sound generator input), it didn't do so for WMP.
So second question is, can anybody tell me how to remove letterboxes from WMP 11? With XP I had used WMP 10 and somehow managed to get real full-screen but unfortunately no longer remember how it worked.
Oh, and with both issues we are talking about 3.7.5 (although it was just the same with 3.8b1)
edit: erm, never mind, as I forgot to edit the preferences file after downgrading to 3.7.5, after re-checking, fullscreen now works fine on WMP11, too!
Thanks a lot!
I didn't file this under Bug Reports, as I thought it is not really a bug...

open your control panel then hit the sounds audio icon then hit the adavnced icon and look tot he top right hit options then hit properties,
you will see playback and recording each has a list of audio options make sure they are all checked and leave it set for recording then restart and see if that enables more audio options for GF

Well, I'll keep looking, but it would still be cool if somebody could post anything.
Btw @juxtiphi: what OS are you talking about?
And if all should fail, I can still connect line out and line in...

Take a look at the following FAQ... Vista, by default, hides the line-in audio source controls and it's consequently tricky to turn this feature on... and to the extent that it's not supported, then you may need to update your audio drivers (or your audio drivers don't support line-in).philtheman wrote:Vista (read: Server 2008 with Vista Looks)
