Misc news
Hey folks -- two news items that I wanted to share...
I'm looking to have G-Force 4.0 done hopefully by late December, or late January by the latest.
G-Force 4.0 will feature:
- 64 bit support on OS X (Screen Saver) and Windows (MS WMC)
- Multithreaded loading, decreasing frame load by 2-4x (if you have a dual or quad core system)
- A few new configs
- Better toolbar support in Windows (so that the toolbar isn't blocked as easily by Windows, etc).
- Full HD support (GF frame size is no longer limited to 4.1M pixels)
The second piece of news is that I on Monday's G-Force build I made a dumb mistake that may cause the G-Force host process to block for several seconds when G-Force exits (I'd say a 5% chance or so). I've resolved the issue and have rebuilt and reposted G-Force 3.9.3 (build 2566). Sorry for the inconvenience!

For folks interested, the new G-Force beta has stuff that makes the networking support on Windows more reliable. We've had more and more Windows folks report problems, so I took some time out to nail that stuff this last week and get it into a release so folks won't have to wait for GF 4. for it.

Soundspectrum 4 - Dec 2009 / Jan 2010? You sure?
Hey everyone,
Im newly registered here, even though ive been using G-Force and Whitecap for over 4 years now.
Recently i bought a Quad Core PC with Vista, but chose to upgrade to Windows 7, and then further that by upgrading to Windows 7 64-Bit
I use a 512mb Nvidia GeForce 9800GTX+, which is now compatible with the New Adobe Flash 10.1 (HD Flash due for full release later this quarter)
Supports GPU-acceleration for smoother online HD videos with the new Adobe Flash 10.1 beta.
Supports DirectCompute with Windows 7 and GeForce 8-series and later GPUs.
Supports OpenCL 1.0 (Open Computing Language) for all GeForce 8-series and later GPUs.
Supports OpenGL 3.2 for GeForce 8-series and later GPUs.
With the current version of G-Force: 3.9.4 there is a lot of horizontal (accross screen) and some vertical lines that seem to appear when the graphics move fast to music (pattern wrecking ripples)
To overcome this is have made these adjustments only for the Standalone within my Nvidia Control Panel, AMD may be similar.
Use custom 3d settings for GForce in the graphics control panel
Turned on: Threaded optimization (use my four cpu's at the same time)
Turned on: Triple Buffering (helps with buffering visuals)
Forced On: Vertical Sync - Not sure if G-force is coded to activate this yet.
Still i cannot make any use of Sounspectrums Gforce in Windows Media Center (2009) the newer WMC released with Windows 7 for 64 Bit versions
Lets all hope newer updates, patches, releases and cutting edge technology is used this year for our Visualizers,
Updates seem to have slowed down a whole lot in the last year, if you check the version histories of gforce you will see a lot of previous years there used to be tonnes of updates to g-force & whitecap often.
I am a Platinum member and have been one for many years.
Your platinum license covers you for a full 12 months - including every update or newer version release, no need to buy a second license or renew if your G-Force platinum license is still active
I would hope that G-Force 4.0 will be released soon, as posted by Andy
Not only will it have 64-biut full compatability, it'll be in High Definition
Yes, finally after many email requests we'll be able to use G-force in HD
Fullscreen in my case, 1920x1080, 23 Inch High Definition Samsung LCD.
4 Gigs of Ram & fastest Nvidia Graphics drivers: im sure my PC will have a field day, let's all hope GFORCE 4 launches at least in Beta form in February 2010, this month
Better late than never, please make it happen Andy and the SS Team!
Thanks from Alf in Adelaide, Australia
