Hi sitsparky,

thank you for the update and your reply that pointed me to this thread about the same topic.. Also for your confirmation that you are working on it. I apologise if my post on the other thread seemed negative, it has been pretty frustrating for me to see the wife approval factor slowly disappearing from media center, this wmc x64 incompatiblity was one of the things that has been kicking it in the teeth along with the constant TV issues.

I am not currently using whitecap or gforce on my media center because it wont work with WMC x64 (as previously mentioned by many).

Whilst i am not using it, others have said they want to (i assume they are ok to use x86 WMP12 but ultimately want x64 wmc).. but wont re-subscribe again until it supports WMC x64.. so i have a sensible suggestion..

Just as Computer Makers supply new PC's with an OS that is going EOL, they offer a free upgrade voucher to the buyer so when the new OS launches shortly after their purchase date, they are able to claim the OS upgrade.. this ensures the computer makers have continuity of revenue stream and satisfied customers. My suggestion is simply that you consider adopting the same approach.. Offer those users a one-time x64 upgrade to enable support of x64 media players on x64 windows (when its ready) if they subscribe now?

The other point i would like to make is about taking things personally. Some of comments from mods in this thread have been a little rude and its not really necessary. Consider viewing this from a different perspective... by providing what are clearly the best 2 visualisers available on a media player, you have built up a following of people who love and have become dependent on your product.. to such an extent that when they are no longer able to use it, they come to your forum and take their time posting messages to tell you they want to buy your product but are unable to do so.

In many industries, you lose customers who become dissatisfied and you never know they have voted with their feet or the reasons why. This puts you in a very healthy position and you should be positive and proud that you have achieved this kind of following. I therefore suggest that you keep the communication of this topic at a reasonable level and ask the mods take a deep breath and not to take things personally, belittle users comments and refrain from making retaliatory remarks based upon misunderstanding the point behind the users requests.

I will keep coming back periodically to see if there are updates, or better still... if you posted on thegreenbutton or other WMC sites that the x64 plugin support was available.. then ill renew subs for my 3 visualisers.

I just want to add that I agree about the importance of getting a 64bit version out on windows is important to those of us running 64bit versions of media center and it could become even more important if MS decides to ditch the 32 bit of media player too soon. Anyway just wanted to add in that I am waiting with really high hopes for a version of GF to work with win7 WMC.

I understand the difficulties required for the 64 build, it's not easy at all, hopefully people can cut them a little slack. Comparing Soundspectrum to Adobe is ludacris and like comparing your local burger joint to McDonalds. Besides if you were really familiar with Adobe, it took forever to get 64 bit version of their apps out so that's just not a good example all around :) Hang in there SS crew and thanks for a fun product. I hope luck finds it's way into your 64bit endeavors!

Wow.......just wow..........

I've been using GForce for quite a few years, and though I'm technical I've never really needed to get under the hood to check what is going on............however, in January I upgraded my home MCE to a Dell Zino Inspirion running Windows 7 64 bit............and duly installed my latest version of GForce.....and for the last couple of months (when I got 10 mins), couldn't figure why it never worked......did the usual uninstall etc.....

Just reading the last year's worth of posts I can clearly see how patient everyone has been around waiting for the update to come....but it hasn't....so I'm simply adding my voice to the pile of requests for 64 bit support and will promptly now raise a support call as suggested in one of the other posts....

I never for one moment thought it wouldn't support 64 bit....that seems so strange given Win 7 64 has been around for so long (in IT terms anyway).

Thank you for all the background information - here's hoping we get what we want....

If you look back to previous posts around the time of Gforce 4, Andy hinted they had cracked windows 64 bit, but only mac 64 os was integrated and the post may have even been deliberately removed or forgotten, still in beta's yet AEON is flying along, maybe they could help Andy get things happening all round, better tweaks and config beta releases more often too

Cheers from Alf, my PC Specs are below, AEON nice, Gforce, little chunky, code obviously needs optimizing for top end full backwards compatability

Intel Core2Quad 6600 running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit on a HP a6160a
Graphics: Gigabyte model (nv450) of Nvidia 450GTS 1GiG RAM DDR3 DX11, HD Realtek/Nvidia audio both DX11 / OPENGL4.1/4.0 full
32 inch Sanyo LCD/Led backlight slim tv as monitor via hispeed hdmi
8 gigs DDR2 RAM onboard, Add in one 8 gb sony micro m2 for speed/readyboost and another 16gb usb for readyboost, board LG775 Bluetooth, TV Tuner, Adobe Elements PhotoShop/Premier Elmnts 9 , Roxio 2011 Professional Hi Def + Bluray, 4.2 TB Storage with 3TB's external storage, Digital Audio Sangean in AAC+ DAB+ in Australia

watched several coats of paint dry

just wondered if there was any news on this situation?

32bit windows is history, MS is on its 3rd 64bit OS, probably 4th in 2012. They are on their 2nd 64bit version of Windows Media Center and still no compatiblity with WMC x64.

I know you guys have explained its hard work with little assistance from Microsoft, but something in the shape of a status update every once in a while would help the prisoners of alt+tab keep going.

If MS have given no documentation, have you tried posting on thegreenbutton.com ? (now run my MS) the forum is linked straight into the ehome team and i think they are as enthusiastic about WMC as i am (not to mention all the others who have posted) after all, it is their baby. They want quality plugins and apps developed by 3rd parties to further their cause.

Please put an end to this waiting game, give us an update please as i am already watching the 15th coat of paint dry. Or at least tell us if you are not focused on it as its just an after work hobby, so we can stop waiting (wasting our time).

Hear hear. I have no other software that doesn't work under 64 bit, and I feel "raped" at having to have paid that much money for this.

Guess I'll add my voice to the chorus. Just got a new PC for use as a media centre. Of course, it came with W7 Home Premium 64-bit installed (there was no option to have 32-bit installed). So can't use my paid up version of G-Force. This is the ONLY application I was running previously that I can't now use on the new 64-bit system.

I too am disappointed at the lack of WMC x64 support. I'm sure that the code and whatnot is very cryptic and all, but honestly, a lot (mostly all) developers have seemed to be able to adjust accordingly. What's the hold up guys? The "Home Theater PC" is now more popular than ever and will probably continue to gain popularity for many more years. Do you know what program 90% of those PC's will be using for media playback? WMC x64. =/

Hello OzRob

The folks at SoundSpectrum rarely visit this forum, it's mostly G-Force enthusiasts like myself who try to help out when and where we can.

Unfortunately, as per usual, I can't give any update or timeframe on this. Though, your voices are heard and appreciated. We also appreciate the patience and support from all of you thus far.
