Best LCD monitor for G-force

Hey all and especially hello and congrats to Andy, Anton and the crew. I'm still out there blowing minds now w/GF 3.7 beta the most beautiful and responsive musical visualization yet tendered. Super job, guys.

I plan on buying a new LCD (monitor) for living-room G-force use. Any opinions on the best aspect ratio/screen native resolution for viewing GF?
The most common "native resolution" is 1280x1024 (=1.25 ratio) for 17" and 19" monitors. There are also small (15-17") "widescreen" which are 1280x768. There are 20.1 (.1?) inchers with 1600x1200 (Samsung) and 1400x1050 (Westy) Also some oddballs: 1920x1200 (full 1080p hdtv) 1440x900 and others.

Is there any reason to go with a widescreen other tnan watching movies?
The fullscreen resolutions available in the G-force toolbar are as follows 1280x1024; 1280x800; 1280x768; 1152x864; 1024x768; 800x600; 720x480 and a bunch of lower ones. How do these correspond? Changing that setting doesn't seen to much change the vis much on my 17"

So, any monitor lcd g-force ideas out there??

I'm just asking how the available g-force screen resoultions and ratios line up with common monitor native resolutions, and the optimum screen size & configuration in peoples' opinions.

I'm running mine at 1680 x 1050 the native resolution of my 20.1" screen.

Hello Aussie (btw ive never met an "aussie" i didn't like). I see you are running G-force on a widescreen 1680x1050. That's good cos i'm thinking of getting this baby: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6824252006

The question is what are setting are you using for G-force full screen? The highest available 1.6 aspect ratio setting in gf is 1240x800 -- is that what you set it on?

Btw i also use jriver11 and it handles 55000+ audio files without getting pokey.

hmmm thats strange i using 1440 x 900 on g-force in wmp.

You sure its not just a limitation of your moitor thats keeping your res low?

Hi Boston,

I chose max frame height and width as "No max"

Then on Full Screen Mode I can go to 1680 x 1050

I would suggest that Orbstah is correct - it may be the size of your existing monitor keeping the res options down. Perhaps it looks to the Display settings on Control Panedl? Not sure about that, but it works!

If you look around the site, you will see pics of GF running on large screen TVs on the wall, so it must work!

Hi everyone, what would happen if a connect a higher res LCD monitor to a pc that only output 800x600 res? I can not change the video card on this kind of computer (Old computer system of a bowling alley that I'm trying to switch to LCDs because the crts are becoming too expensive) Is it possible to do that? Will the LCD monitor get damage? Do I need some kind of adapter?

all you'll get is the 800x600

Which is the best monitor LG or Viewsonic? What is the price of 19" LCD monitor in hyderabad? I am planning to buy a 19" LCD monitor and Im going to choose from Viewsonic or LG. Im a bit confused, which is the best. Also please let me know the price of Viewsonic VA1928wm and LG W1952TE in hyderabad.

the dell line of monitors work really really well as well as sony bravia tvs (bright and crisp).

How many people need the lights on while viewing an LCD monitor? Is it not easier to view an LCD monitor in a room that is neither bright nor dark?

I am not sure what type of monitor my ASUS N90Sv-A2 utilizes but it is a 1080i HD 18.4" screen that has a default resolution of 1900x1080 and it is spectacular with what it comes up with for visualization outcomes.
