G-Force, Softskies & Whitecap for the Android

Post by Spirit Wolfe »

Hello:

I have been a member and a registered member of G-Force since I stumbled upon its plug-in for version 1.2 for Winamp 2 and I have never left. I love your hard work and programs over the years and I use it frequently with Winamp and as a screensaver every now and again.

I will never leave,I hope! :D

I just bought the new Sprint htc EVO 4G Android phone with Froyo 2.2. When I downloaded the Android version of Winamp it got me to thinking:

:?:  Will you ever make a Plug-In for the Winamp Android?
:?:  What about a G-Force Android controlled Bluetooth remote for controlling G-Force like you can with a remote setup?

I for one would like to see an Android version of G-Force because I would utilize G-Force as my animated background screen of my htc EVO 4G phone. I can picture this with running Winamp Android within the background and my favorite song playing and displaying the song title and artist the same way the plugin does for Windows' Winamp 5 version.

If I had this as an animated background on my Android phone I KNOW I would not have...no, no, no... NEED another animated background with this doubling for my animated background and as my Winamp Droid plugin as well.

I think a lot of users of both Winamp, G-Force and the htc Droid series phones would agree with me on this, right?

I echo Spirit Wolfe's comments. I would just be happy with a way of controlling G-Force from my Droid. How about a port of the G-Force Toolbar for the Droid? With bluetooth & wireless connectivity.

We actually have G-Force running in full on the iPhone 4 -- and it looks GREAT. However, we're still working on building the music player app around it. We're pretty overloaded with engineering work at the moment, but we should be making progress on this in the coming months!

After that we'll be going Android, but that assumes there's no fatal hitches along the way. We have to do a lot of tricky stuff that mobile platforms are JUST starting to offer (access to live audio and access to the handset's audio output stream--typically not supported since it's a DRM issue for handsets).

DRM is an issue even though the MP3 and MP4 files that I utilize for my music are not DRM encrypted files, Andy?

Or does the Android and other Phone (such as the iPhone) platforms "lockout" access to the audio file while it is being played from and listened to through the MP3 player, such as PowerAMP for the Android Linux platform phones? :?:

If you could get it to work the same way that Morphyre,Visualizer 5000 or Audio Glow live wall that would be perfect. They don't have or need a music/media player. They simply react to whatever audio input source you choose so if you already have audio playing on it internally or you prefer to have it capture off the mic.

Just got a Asus Nexus 7. Would love having your apps on it :)
Personally I would love it as a live wall.
