This has been an ongoing issue for years, the only way to maintain reactivity or responsiveness to audio is to manually skip forwards or back, play longer tracks over 30 minutes long for example, and hope Andy and Soundspectrum will be able to implement a fix.

Windows Media Player is labelled (Legacy) which probably means at some time in the future Microsoft will phase it out completely in preference for the Modern Windows Media Player from the Microsoft Store, the latter still missing many features including visualizer capabilities and audio crossfading.

Hello ShohS

Good to see your still with us. Windows Media Player and G-Force don't get on too well together (works for some - not others). The problem could be that G-Force has somehow become corrupted.

My suggestion:- Download the FREE version of Revo Pro Uninstaller and allow it to uninstall G-Force and scan for leftovers. (www.revouninstaller.com)

Click This PC - C Drive - Program Files(X86) - SoundSpectrum - You should see a folder named G-Force or SoundSpectrum - Delete the G-Force file.

Click (your name) - AppData - Roaming - SoundSpectrum - Delete the G-Force file. Now empty the Recycle Bin. Shutdown your PC completely and wait a good minuet then power up.

Now download and install a fresh copy of G-Force.

This procedure has been successful for other users, so I hope it works for you.

I have tried a full clean and re-installation, unfortunately that doesn't resolve the issue here with Windows Media Player (legacy).
Furthermore, I have also tried a clean install from a brand-new $2000 notebook computer, but the issue still remains.
Windows Media Player (legacy) doesn't respond to secondary tracks and any of those after unless our manual interaction kicks it into gear.

That being said the built in generic visualizers from Windows for the Media Player (legacy) barely work or freeze instantly. :(

If the sound source from Windows media player (legacy) could be reconfigured to respond to any audio like the standalone versions, this issue may be a candidate eligible for a workaround - this would mean track by track could still be visualized completely, instead of failing song by song.

Hello ozbeats

I suggest you follow the instuctions I gave to ShohS, then download Winamp 5.66 from here:- https://winampheritage.com/download-winamp-player (copy & paste into your search bar). Make sure you download the full version. This is the set up I use myself without any issues. Do not download any other version of Winamp. Keep us informed.

The issue relates to the Windows Media Player regarding reactivity of visuals that goes dead after the first song, unless skip forward / back is used.

Current official version of Winamp is 5.92.0.10042 available from Winamp.com/downloads/
I'm using it and it's reasonable, works well mostly, sometimes freezes unexpectedly, rarely it may require an overwritten reinstallation.
There's no benefit from getting Winamp 5.66 when it has clearly been officially superseded with new codecs, security certificates and fixes.
